Hello,
I wasn't sure where to post since there is not an Allergy/Immunology forum.

I work with a pediatric allergy clinic as part of our multi-specialty practice and have a question surrounding food allergy testing. I have had three patient's in the past two weeks who have all not gotten past the first dose of their food challenge without a reaction. My question is how much time do I give credit for as they are documenting the whole time they observe the patient post-reaction. I know that I need at least 65 minutes to bill food challenge testing, but does that include observation for reaction?

For example one patient ate part of their first "dose" of food and almost immediately began having hives so was given Benadryl and observed. Time documented as start time of 0830 and stop time of 1015.

Any assistance on this would be appreciated!
