I am a new oncology coder, just kind of got thrown in and I have no idea what I am doing. I am only doing the phys/pro fee side and the hospital codes the infusions.
I am struggling to understand what I can't and can bill as far as the labs, they do a lot of CMP, CBC, and I am getting denials across the board and then some are being paid. In what situations can I bill the labs or the blood draws, there are a couple scenarios, one : pts comes in does not see doc just has CMP CBC done. I am coding the labs with either a 36415, or a 36591. Second scenario, they come in have labs and see doc, so on top of the labs it would be the 99214 etc. Third, they come in do labs, see doc and then head over for chemo...
