I am trying to get a definitive answer on whether needle placement for EMG can be done by Physician Assistant or Nurse Practioner. I code for a Sports mediicine/Pain management group in Virginia. So far it looks as though our state regulations allow it. As for Palmetto GBA JII, I looked up CPT 95905 (Motor and/or sensory nerve conduction, using preconfigured electrode array(s), amplitude and latency/velocity study, each limb, includes F-wave study when performed, with interpretation and report) and per their indicator report, the "concept does not apply". Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
