Hello:)

Can I code for nerve block with excision of nail bed? I'm not sure if the block is included in the procedure. This is the procedure paragraph:

"4 mL of 1% lidocaine was used to anesthetize the toe, using a digital nerve block. He is still having some minor discomfort with the procedure after initial anesthesia, so an additional 4 mL was used with good lidocaine effect. Both the medial and lateral nail bed was excised, hemostasis was obtained, no complications."

I was going to use codes: 11750 and 64450

Thanks in advance for your help!

Nerve block is inclussive

Anesthesia administered by the provider is inclusive to the procedure. The nerve block can't be reported. The NCCI Manual state: "Local, topical or regional anesthesia administered by the physician performing the procedure is integral to the surgical procedure."
