Good morning,
I am in need of some assistance on coding a procedure. The physician is going to perform this surgery and I need to code it so we can submit for authorization, but I am stumped on what codes to use?

Procedure:
Radial to axillary nerve transfer
Spinal accessory to suprascapular nerve transfer

Any assistance would be great!

I code for hand surgeons who recently have performed several of these. Although not in the region you are coding - after much reaching out to peers, I went to the Neurorrhaphy codes (64831-64876) and used a suture code with the add-on code 64874 for the nerve transfer component of the procedure performed. I kept an eye on it and was happy to see that it paid (without denials of any kind - YAY). Hope this helps a little... Cindy
