My physician performed a neuroendoscopic biopsy of an optic pathway tumor and placement of an ommaya reservoir using stereotactic image guidance. Does anybody have a physician doing these that could assist in coding this?
Procedure description:
Axiem image guidance system was registered. Previous frontal incision opened and existing shunt system identified. Bur hole was expanded, dura was opened, neuroendoscope inserted into the tumor cyst. A solid portion of the tumor was identified and several biopsies were taken. Bleeding was controlled, endoscope removed and ventricular catheter placed into the cavity. The catheter was trimmed and secured to an Ommaya reservoir.
