Hi, is it appropriate to bill a neuroplasty(64716) with performing a total thyroid neck dissection. One of the physicians, we do a

a seminar and this was brought up that you can bill these 2 codes together? Has anyone had a surgery with these 2 codes?
 
While we have never done one like that, we do openings for spinal surgery where we do the opening of the neck and then the spine surgeon comes in and does his part. So my quess would be, it would be something like that. The Neck and Head surgeon does the neck disection and then leaves it open for the neuro surgeon to take care of their part of it- you would use a 62 mod for the neuroplasty(64716).

But this is just a guess- I will ask my doctors and see if they have heard of this combo surgery and let you know :)
