I am not familiar with neuropsych coding, if anyone can help with this it will be much appreciated. I have been asked the following: why are claims with codes 96118, 96119, and 96120 being denied? Here is the scenerio....the neuropsychologist has a tech administer the computer test 96119. The neuropsychologist administers the 96118. They were also billing the 96120. Now all of a sudden they are being denied. I researched and it looks like all of the above tests include interpretation and report by the neuropsychologist. Should they only bill the 96119, and 96120? Also does anyone know of a change that just happened recently with covering all three services? Are they missing a modifier?
I appreciate any help with these questions. Thank you.

The codes you listed do have mutually exclusive edits:

96118 96110
96118 96119
96118 96120
96119 96110
96119 96120
96120 96110

all with modifier allowance of "1". So if they truely are all being performed separately, modifier 59 is possible.
