Is there any reason why a co-suregon would not be permitted to bill 63650 and/or 63685??

Thanks for any help!

Check CCI edits

Check your CCI edits. 63650 does not allow the 62 modifier. 63685 does.

But do not code for reimbursement. Code what was performed.

Mstoop1,

Our sugeons also provide these services. I am told, simply, that CPT code 63650 is not complex enough to warrant an additional assistant; whereas, 63685 could with medically necessary documentation.
