If I have coded 63655 for trial neurostim and the pt returns for perm. Would i then only code 63685? or do i code for electrodes placement? On trial a laminectomy was done with paddle placement. So how is perm billed?

I have only ever seen a trial done percutaneously, so this will just be a guess from me.

What exactly was done at the session that the permanent paddles were placed? Did they remove the paddles that were placed for the trial? Or were the same paddles left in place, and then just connect to the IPG to make it permanent?
