I'm having brain fog for some reason. Established patient comes in for a f/u, and has a new complaint/injury. Can I code a new patient visit?

When determining "New vs. Established patient", nothing else matters except if the patient has received any professional services, Evaluation and Management (E/M) service or other face-to-face service (e.g., surgical procedure) from the same physician or physician group practice (same physician specialty and subspecialty) within the previous 3 years. If yes, then -> Established. If no, then -> New Patient.
