hello,

I have a provider that wants to bill 95718 for several days in one document. Guidelines state not to report this code for long term EEG's. To bill 95718, he would need separate documentation for each day, correct? If several days are on one report with one provider signature the code to be billed should be one of these: 95721-95726, correct?

Thanks!

Yes, you are correct you would only bill 95718 for 2-12hours. If the study is longer than that then you would look at billing other codes.
48 hour video EEG would be 95720x2 or 95722x1 depending on if the report is at the conclusion of the study or with a report each 24 hours.

I also am questioning the DOS to use for continuous EEG monitoring. The date it started or the date it was signed or interpreted? I have seen articles regarding both, but no definitive answer. TIA for any help.
