Our Internal Medicine provider discharged an inpatient for transfer to a rehabilitation facility. The admitting physician at the rehabilitation facility was also an Internal Medicine provider whose charge for admission to his facility was received at Medicare prior to our charge for discharge.
TrailBlazer Medicare is telling us that only 1 Internal Medicine provider can be paid on a given date of service. We do not recall this ever having been a problem in the past. Has anyone had a similar experience lately?
