Is there a diagnostic code for a new patient coming in to get established with a Doctor with out anything being wrong? :confused:

I have had this happen, and have not been sure what to code it to.

Have one today, patient is getting an immunization but is "new" and getting established with her Doctor.

I can not figure out what to code it to.

What immunization did the PT get? Check V03.xx or V04.xx, need for prophylactic vaccination, and find the specifc or "other" vaccine encounter code.

It isn't really the shot we are concerned about.
It would be if a patient comes in to establish care and not for
any other reason. ie cough, sick so there is no diagnosis.

I can't find a code for establishing care or new patient.
