I have a provider who works in the same office but has now changed his specialty from Family to Dermatology. Can this provider bill out New Patient visits with patients who have seen his Co-Providers under the Family Practice group with-in the last 3 years?

Per CPT E/M guidelines, if the provider sees a patient that has been seen by another provider in the same group, but NOT the same specialty or subspecialty, then a New Patient E/M code may be reported. Hope this helps!
