We had a new patient come in for the yearly pe. The doctor spent a hour with this patient because she had multiple medical issues including md, g-tube, rad, seizures, cyclic vomiting. The doctor then spent another 1 1/2 hrs on the patients prev records and updating our lmr with the info. I would like to bill extra for this but i'm not sure if i should bill a sick visit with the rov or perhaps use a prolonged serv code?? Anyone ?? Thanks :d

I would bill the PE, 99384, 385, 386,387 depending on the patients age and then add an additional E/M with mod 25 for the other problems with the prolong code, for the time you have noted it would probably be 354 & 355.

Hope this helps,
