:confused:I am looking for the correct way to code this surgery. We used to bill it as 28292+28306, but with the new bunionectomy code for proximal metatarsal osteotomy, 28295, I believe I need to use that for the osteotomy. But what about the "modified mcbride"? It is a separate incision, but I haven't found a code that fits:

Attention was directed to the dorsal aspect of the patient's right first metatarsophalangeal joint where an approximately 4 cm linear incision was made slightly medial to the long extensor tendon. The incision was deepened in the same plane paying careful attention to preserve all the vessels and nerves which were retracted and cauterized as necessary. By using a sharp and blunt dissection, the first intermetatarsal space was explored and the conjoined tendon of the adductor hallucis and the deep transverse intermetatarsal ligament were identified and transected

I would REALLY appreciate some good advice because this provider does the procedure A LOT.
