I need come clarification on the new TEE code 93355 and when it is appropriate to use. Is the new code to be used only when they perform 3D? Our providers are frequently using the 3D function to supplement our standard 2D TEE's, but it is only supplemental not their standard of care. Just trying to clarify, please help!!
If you can provide any supporting information that would help clarify that would also be helpful
 
I believe 93355 is intended to be used to report TEE services during an interventional procedure as opposed to doint a TEE diagnositically. You would still use the same codes used previously for your diagnositc TEE procedures.
