Our physician saw a pt on 7/15-17/10 in the hospital for another physician that's part of our call group. He had never seen the pt before and the other physician is not part of our office or group, just part of the call group that covers for each other on weekends.
The pt has now transferred her care to become a pt in our physician's practice. Would she be considered a new or est pt??? She is Medicare. I'm thinking est since he previously saw her in the hospital -- she has received professional services from our physician within the last 3 years...Help???!!!
