Does anyone bill for a pediatric hospitalist who treats newborns after birth (Only referencing admission to discharge days immediately after birth)? The provider is not employed by the hospital. I am receiving many Independence Blue Cross denials for prior authorization since late last year. This had never been an issue in the past years and while we are working with the insurance to review claims, the process is slow. I am wondering if anyone has had this issue. We have tried to submit with medical records with no success in getting the codes covered. These are policies where the mom does not require prior auth for inpatient service. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
