Wiki Newborn weight checks

We're having a problem with reimbursement and wondering how others are coding. Within 48 hours of a newborn being sent home we have them in the office for a basic weight check and measurements. Unless there is an issue these visits are with our nurses. Could someone please advise us how they code?

We billed these visits as the child's first well visit. The doctor sees the pt not the nurse. We get paid.

Within two weeks of the baby's birth, the physician sees the baby billing for a newborn physical; however, we normally do not bill for weight checks. This is done as a courtesy and continuation of quality care of a newborn. Carolyn
