A provider sees a neonate in the NICU 4 days in a row for subsequent visits. What e/m do I bill? The baby weighs more than 5000 grams and is in intensive care. The only thing I can think of is the unlisted e/m code. Has anyone else run into this scenario? If you have, how did you code it?

Thanks!

We bill those with the appropriate level of inpatient E/M code (99221 - 99233).
