Surgeon performed "incise and divide of soft tissue nerve pathways to bilateral nipple-areolar complexes"
the patient was taken to the operating room, placed in the supine position, given intravenous sedation, and tolerated it well. We then injected .25% Marcaine with epinephrine in a regional block for both sides. We prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. We isolated the field with Ioban drapes. We then went ahead and made a small incision at the 6 o'clock on each nipple areolar complex. It was done at the edge. We then dissected with Metzenbaum scissors and area of approximately 8cm in a circular fashion around the nipple-areolar complexes and underneath completely separating the skin and soft tissue away from the nipple-areolar complex. Once soft tissue was completely elevated, we then irrigated with tulip solution. we them placed one suture external on each incision site. We placed a soft fluff dressing followed with a compression garment. She was awakened and taken to the recovery room in stable condition. She tolerated the procedure well.
I have not been able to locate a specific code and fear I will be left with 19499 unspecified breast procedure.
