My CPC-A did not even get me a job interview as a receptionist. Employers seek experience or an Associates degree. I did have a connection with a hospital and potential employment but I moved to another state and some letters from AAPC was not enough to get in the door locally.

I did go to some AAPC meetings to get CEUs and was offered job interviews but these were also out of my range geographically.

Networking at these meetings is definitely worth it. Show up looking your casual professional best (Ann Taylor worked for me) and put yourself out there.
