Hello, We have seen many cases come through as "monitoring only" with no sedation given.
The CRNA is present to make sure the patient is not under great distress from the procedure being performed without the anesthetic, as requested by the surgeon.
The CRNA did perform a pre-op evaluation.
Would this be acceptable to report the CRNA's time as an E/M service?
I understand this will not be able to be represented as MAC or conscious sedation.
Thoughts?
