When billing for fee for a no-show or late visit cancellation, which ICD 10 would youu use? This patient as never been seen at the office and therefore there is no valid diagnosis. Thanks.
 
Just like there is no CPT for a no-show, there will not be any ICD10. Most practices will create their own dummy code just to post into their system. This is not billed to insurance, only the patient, so you may create whatever internal code you wish.
 
We put this in as an administrative charge (same with medical records costs). That way you can separate it from CPT billing, it does not transfer to insurance and you don't have to make any "dummy" codes. Your billing software should have a place to create admin charges.
