General question...
Does everyone bill for non-diagnostic studies? For example...

PROCEDURE:RLQ FOR APPENDICITIS
ULTRASOUND OF THE RIGHT LOWER QUADRANT:
CLINICAL INDICATION: PAIN

The appendix could not be visualized. Therefore, this is a nondiagnostic study. No abnormal fluid collections are seen in the right lower quadrant.

IMPRESSION: Non-diagnostic study.

I would assume so, we did the procedure, maybe I should reduce the charge with modifier 52?

We would use the 52 mod unless they d/ced the study then add the 53 mod
