Our physician provided services to 2 pts last weekend over the phone, and I was wondering how we charge for this since it is not an actual O/V, I looked up the CPT codes for telephone services but most insurance companies do not cover this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, both pts were not seen in the office prior to this at least 2 weeks before, nor did he need to see them in the office 24 hours after the service.

If the patient initiated the call and the time was documented as more than 5 minutes then you can bill 99441-99443. If the payer does not cover this service then after it is denied you bill the patient.
