I am billing for a new client. She is a NP at an alternative medicine practice. She is using IV therapy with non RX additives; administering vitamins and natural substances. This treatment is being used in her cancer patients. Has anyone else billed for this type of treatment? I would like to know how to approach private insurance for pre auth and head off any problems ahead of time.
Thanks to all my colleagues.

Most 'alternative' treatments won't get authorized whether or not you call the payer. You can try....
For billing, you'd report the IV infusion codes according to time, and report a non-listed J code to report the additives. Pricing depends on your cost, since there's usually no fee schedule for supplements. Most payers want the name of the additives in box 19.
