The AMA dx book says you can only use V30.00 once at the time of birth. AAP coding book says you may use V30.00 for every day that newborn in in the hospital. Optimum dx book says nothing about how often you can use that code. Thoughts?
 
If the rules for I-10 and I-9 are the same you can only code any code once per encounter. Wether a new encounter is created every 24 hours is up to debate.
