I had a differing opinion on whether an EM can be billed with nose bleed procedure
My understanding is: patient presents with nose bleed, uncontrolled with pressure and then cautery was done – An office LOS (99201-99215) and procedure code can be billed out. Because the evaluation finds patient is healthy and the nose bleed is now controlled with procedure cautery and/or packing). A LOS and procedure can be billed.
