Wiki NP's as surgery assistants

I have a plastic surgeon who would like to hire a NP to be his surgery assistant. He will predominately be billing out 19357, 19342, and 19318. He is wondering 1) if insurances like BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, and Medcost, will reimburse him for the NP and 2) if so what charges or receipts can the NP receive. I have been unable to really find any information in any other blogs, and I was hoping someone here might be able to give some advice, examples etc.

I'm in WI. From what I could look up, 2 of your 3 codes allow an assist at surgery. We only have PA-Cs here, but what we get is: Aetna = 16% of allowed amount, Cigna = 16% fo allowed amount. Most payers are right around that same percentage. When I look into whether we would want a billable assist at surgery (NP or PA) I look at that providers CPT codes that are most used and see what codes allow an assist. If most of the codes do, then I would think it would be beneficial.
