I COULD REALLY USE SOME CLARITY ON THE BILLING PROCEDURES FOR NST'S. WHEN OUR DOCTORS ARE ON CALL AT THE HOSPITAL THEY ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN OFF ON NST'S DONE THAT DAY. THEY THEN BRING THOSE TEST RESULTS TO THE OFFICE FOR US TO BILL WITH 59025-26. THE PROBLEM ARISES WHEN THE DOCTORS SUBMIT NST'S FOR PATIENTS THAT ARE ROUTINELY SEEN BY THEIR REGULAR OB DOCTOR. MY QUESTION IS CAN WE RIGHTFULLY BILL FOR NST'S FOR OTHER DOCTORS PATIENTS JUST BECAUSE WE SIGNED OFF ON THEM WHEN WE DID NOT ORDER THE TEST OR DOCUMENT THE PATIENTS RECORD WITH THE RESULTS?:confused::eek:

NST billing

If your doctors are doing the NST reports, they should definitely be billing for other providers patients. 59025 with a 26 modifier.

Thank you. That is what we are doing but we were given other information and we were looking for assurance that we were doing it correctly.
