question:

how do you bill for a thyroid uptake exam, when one day the patient takes a pill and returns the next day for the actual test,

or comes in and gets an injection and the a couple hours later takes the exam

and as well for a nuclear bone scan, if one day the injection is givene and the next day the exam

please help
 
Nuc med

When I was coding nuc med we were told to code the meds or radiopharmaceuticals the day they were given and the procedure code the day it was done...it may have changed since then but I wouldn't think so
