If our NP is billing under her own NPI, does there need to be a statement in the encounter that she reviewed the case with the physician on site?
 
There is no coding rule that says this statement must be documented, but some provider organizations have their own internal guidelines requiring this. You may also want to check with your state nursing board's rules regarding the supervision of NPs to see if there are any requirements to this effect.
