Hello,

If a pt comes in for a depo shot and the nurse discusses/educate on other forms of BC at the visit, would this be included in the 96372? A 99211 cannot be billed just because of the education, correct?

99211 is an 'incident to' E&M service. Although education does qualify as a type of E&M service, the other requirements of 'incident to' must also be met, i.e. that the service was ordered by the physician and is a part of their care plan for the patient. If the nurse is simply discussing and answering the patient's questions about birth control, then it does not qualify to be billed this way.
