A patient came in and was seen by Nurse only. Pt was inquiring about Implanon and discussion was held. Can the nurse bill a 99211 for this?

no it does not sound like it. It must meet the incident to requirements in that the physician has already seen the patient and has a plan of care that the patient is to return for this discussion and the provider must be on site. If the patient is inquiring about a treatment option the physician is the appropriate provider for the patient to discuss this with. If that has already happened and the patient is comming in to ask questions of the nurse the perhaps, just depends on the documentation.
