Is it appropriate for the orthopedic nurse to bill a 99211 for Coumadin management when the provider raises/lowers the amount of medicine being taken after a protime is showing high/low? My question is in regards to patients that are in a post op period and are taking Coumadin for the first 6 weeks as the blood thinner. I realize they are in a global period following their total joint replacement, but this is for the Coumadin management.
