Is anyone aware of limitations that RNs may have in the Hospital Facility setting? For instance, are they able to perform PICC lines and insert Catheters, or is that for the specialty Advance Practice Nurse? Everything I've ready says it is for the APN rather than the RN. Would appreciate some clarity. Thanks.

Nurses' scope of practice is set by state law and defined by the licensing board in each state, so it varies from state to state. If you do an internet search for your state's board of nursing and locate their web site, you can probably find a copy of the statutes or regulations that say exactly what is allowed under each particular nursing license.
