I am performing a audit on a Texas Medicaid member and Medicaid OB/GYN provider. Is anyone aware where I can obtain information that will allow a regular OB/GYN billing a diagnose for high risk pregnancy and E/M as 99214 when the medical record is not showing provider meet the criteria for E/M 99214.

Re ob/gyn high risk billing

I would think that the issue of not meeting the criteria for a 99214, or any other level of E&M ,is the real problem. Whether or not the provider is an OBGYN or not. If the criteris isn't there, you can't bill it.
