Hello guys,

I need a quick help from you people. How will you code these cpt codes.
1. Exploration of cervix, non-obstetric.
2. Drainage of blood from the cervix.

The patient had a blood collection in the cervix after the C-section. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
 
If the patient is within the global of delivery, you need to code for a postpartum complication. Without more details on the procedure I can't say for certain what the correct CPT code may be, but here's a guess.

If the clot was due to postpartum hemorrhage (see 666.xx codes), then 59160 with the reduced services modier 52 may be correct. Otherwise and unlisted code might be needed.

I've never run into this, worded as you have listed. Hope I'm at least sending you in the right direction.
 
Wouldn't this fall under pp care included in the global? I am assuming your physician did the C section.
