My office is having an ongoing battle with lousiana medicaid not paying our ob claims. The issue is that one anesthesiologist starts the labor epidural. We all know that sometimes these things can take awhile. And after taking a couple hours the patient fails to progress so she needs a c-section. At this time a different anesthesiologist takes over and is the anesthesiologist during the c-section. Medicaid is telling us that we have to bill for only one doctor for both procedures. Is this even legal? If so how do we go about getting around concurrency issues and how to bill it? They are also telling us to put Qs modifier when a CRNA is involved? HELP PLEASE
