I am experiencing a brain fart here. The patient had an ERCP and was admitted for overnight observation to be treated for pancreatitis with fluids and pain meds. Since this is an "endoscopic minor procedure 000 global, can the doctor charge for the admit on the date of ERCP and discharge the following day? :o
 
You can charge the initial hospital care code with a 25 modifier. The complication appears to be beyond the usual post-op care required for the procedure.
