Patient presents to ED in the morning
ED physician places Observation order
Hospitalist sees patient in the ED, states patient is in Observation and requests Urology Consult
Urologist performs procedure in the afternoon, patient status is now Outpatient in Bed (due to procedure)
What code would the Hospitalist use? An ED code, Observation or Outpatient E&M?
