Our office has a lab where we process pathology. Our provider is wanting for our lab to create an H&E slide, send it to another office for them to stain the specimen with a stain that we don’t have. Then, send it back for our Provider to read. The office wants to bill us for using the stain and we bill insurance. What are the billing protocols for this type of billing? Thank you.
