I'm coding/billing for an urgent care clinic, where we do some in-house labs but send more extensive blood work to the hospital. I'm wondering if we can bill 36415 for our venipuncture, in addition to the 99203, etc. I'm seeing conflicting answers in my research.
 
You can bill for both an E&M and a venipuncture (36415) on the same date of service. Keep in mind that many carriers will not pay on the both the E&M and the 36415, but from a coding point of view the application of the code in addition to the E&M is allowed.
