Does anybody know if a modifier 25 is needed on the E&M visit if manipulation (code 98925) is also being done in that same visit by the same physician? Thanks in advance for any info on this.

E&M with Manipulation

We append a 57 modifier to any fracture code with or without manipulation when a patient has an E&M on the same day. Fractures are considered surgeries. Hope this helps.
 
It has been a while since I have coded for manipulations, but I do believe that we did append modifer 25 to the E/M code as we considered the manipulation codes (98925 to 98929) separate. Hope that helps... :)
