if you have a patient that you been treating for trigger finger and de quervain and this is ongoing problem for several month and than the patient had surgery on the trigger finger for the right middle finger and than in couple weeks come back and the dr sees the patient for both problem again can we billed an office visit with a modifier 24 for de quervain and post op for the trigger finger or because this is an ongoing problem and not a new problem can we billed this.
 
I would say since the patient is in the global period for trigger finger and returns for same problem, this is not billable. However, if the problem is a different finger, than you would append the mod 24 on the visit. Hope this helps!
