Wiki office visits with procedures

hello,

Still new to coding, let alone ob gyn coding, and saw in the ob/gyn newsletter that endo biopsies that were pre planned should only be charged with the biopsy code no office visit unless there is a separate identifiable service, does this go for all other procedures too I assume, like IUD insertions/removals etc

Hi, that's correct if the procedure was pre-planned/ scheduled in advance. You would be able to bill an office visit if the patient came in to discuss an issue, menorraghia for example, and then at the visit the doctor decided to take a biopsy.
