I am curious if anyone knows of a reference that would provide an "official" abbreviated description of a procedure code. The organization I work for often needs to describe a service but it is too cumbersome to use the entire description so staff shortens the description to be more manageable - however if this is not done correctly the meaning can be changed slightly. Is there somewhere a more "official" list of shortened descriptions that anyone is aware of?
